Evictions and Christmas… bahhhh humbug!

Okay everyone, so I figured I would write this because I have been having a lot of people ask: Should I evict a tenant at christmas? I think I might start sounding like scrooge here but in my honest opinion, how is December any different than any other month? You have a mortgage you need to pay and the tenant isnt paying rent. If you’re going to start making special allowances for Christmas, you might as well for Thanksgiving, New Years, Easter, 4th of July and every other holiday. The bank requires you to  pay your mortgage on time during Christmas, its not unreasonable to hold your tenant accountable to pay the rent on time as well.

Just an interesting note here: I have court scheduled for the 23rd and the 24th. Is this the landlords problem or the tenants problem for thinking christmas presents were more important than a roof over their head? Its all about priorities and hold them accountable - whatever month or holiday it might be.
